High Vacuum Oil Purification
High Vacuum Oil Purifier System
Considering the rigorous use and harsh environments most of our equipment performs in day after day, year after year, it’s critical that owners keep them performing at peak efficiency. That’s why K&N offers high-vacuum degasification and purification.
High Vacuum Oil Purifier: ASTM Method D1816
Our Field Services HVOP System uses the ASTM method D1816 to process mineral oils in storage tanks or directly in transformers (energized or de-energized). This helps to improve and restore your transformer oil to the manufacturer’s original specifications.
What Our High Vacuum Oil Purifier Systems Entail
This cost-saving operation uses an inlet pump capable of drawing oil from long distances and low elevations, a unique multi-level vacuum chamber design for rapid degasification, a sophisticated heating control scheme to insure safe and efficient processing of the contaminated oil, and a variable speed outlet pump to return the processed and restored oil to the transformer being serviced.
For those seeking to neutralize acid and lower TAN, we offer an optional Fullers Earth Filtration system for further purification.
VOPT Oil Purifier
Key Advantages of HVOP Systems
Our HVOP process achieves water content < 5 PPM per ASTM Method D1533, and particulate removal of 99% (less than .05 microns) offering key benefits, including:
- Fewer filter element replacements
- High-viscosity gear oil operation
- Restoring the oil dialectic strength to OEM specifications
- Extending service life by removing impurities
- Reducing processing costs
- Lowering moisture levels
When to Use High Vacuum Oil Purifier Systems
High-vacuum oil purification can across a wide range of oil applications, including the following:
- Hydraulic oil
- Turbine oil
- Lubrication oil
- Gear oil
- Transformer oil
How HVOP Systems Maintain & Improve Dielectric Strength?
Our purification process improves or restores the oil’s dielectric strength by removing the free and soluble water, dissolved gases, and particulate matter. Input and exit filters are provided for particulate removal with an optional Fullers Earth Filtration system.
